POSTER DESIGN SAMPLES:

This image was created for the show The Bible: The Complete Word of God (abridged) using the head of God from The Sistine Chapel. The show is a fast-paced comedy so I wanted to use the image of the everyday businessman in modern setting as God, creating the world. I especially enjoy the coffee and donut.

For the show Assassins, a musical dealing with that unlikely subject, I wanted to show patriotism combined with the violence that assassins commit.

The director of this production of Godspell wanted a poster that was celebratory. He used actual confetti in the production, so I decided to incorporate that into the illustration I did, which also harkened back to the first poster for the Broadway production.

True West deals with a pair of brothers writing screenplays for Hollywood. I wanted to combine the title with a classic Hollywood image. This concept is used quite a bit, but I also tried to come up with interesting use of type to convey the writing aspect of the piece.

Another "parody" of an existing poster design. I used some of the Chorus Line image, altered the people to suit the cast and added the requisite antlers to give the public an idea of the non-traditional feel of the Christmas offering.

This production was a world premiere, and I was lucky enough to design this piece for this show about a trailer, the lone survivor of a tornado and the stripper who lives inside. Early is the name of the town in which the play takes place.

The Picture Walls was another world premiere, dealing with one family's loss after a loved one is killed in the attack on the Twin Towers. The "picture wall" is an actual wall in the show, but I wanted to give the idea of the danger by using the Twin Towers image in the title graphic.

Coyote on a Fence deals with prisoners on death row. One is a writer, so I used the typewriter font to tie in with the actual typewriter used in the production. This poster was text-heavy, which was required by the producer, so I tried to use that to crowd the images of the inmate, guard and reporter. (That's me in the back, actually)

Personals is a show about people looking for love in the personal ads of their local newspaper. It's a fun little musical. I used actual personal ads in the background superimposed with an image of the cast and a bright, colorful title graphic.
